Vaginitis & Infection Checks

Recurring symptoms deserve a closer look.

Itching, burning, odor and discharge can have different causes. An evaluation can help distinguish an infection from irritation or other changes, instead of assuming every episode needs the same treatment.

Do you have healthy bacteria in your microbiome?

Itching, burning, odor, and changes in discharge can have different causes. At Quick Gyno, we look beyond the symptoms—especially when vaginitis keeps coming back. An evaluation may include checking the balance of healthy vaginal bacteria, such as lactobacilli, alongside testing for infection. This helps us understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and guide treatment, rather than assuming every episode needs the same approach.

Vaginal Symptoms

Itching or Irritation
Causes: This may be due to yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), allergies to products (such as soaps or detergents), or hormonal changes.

Discharge Changes
Causes: Variations in vaginal discharge, such as increased volume, color changes (e.g., yellow, green, or gray), or changes in consistency, can be linked to infections (e.g., yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, STIs) or hormonal fluctuations.

Unpleasant Odor
Causes: A strong or unusual odor may indicate an infection, particularly bacterial vaginosis or an STI. Hormonal changes or retained foreign objects (like tampons) can also contribute.

Pain or Discomfort
Causes: Pain during intercourse (dyspareunia) or general vaginal discomfort can stem from infections, hormonal imbalances, dryness, or conditions like vulvodynia or endometriosis.

Swelling or Redness
Causes: Inflammation or swelling of the vaginal area can result from infections, allergic reactions, or irritants.

Burning Sensation
Causes: A burning feeling during urination or intercourse can be related to infections, irritation from products, or urinary tract infections (UTIs).
